We are exclusively partnered with a global professional services firm to recruit a Tax Director for their London office. This is a senior leadership role, offering the opportunity to influence and drive the direction of a high-performing tax team, working with a diverse portfolio of international clients.
The Tax Director will be an integral part of the London Leadership Team, responsible for managing all aspects of the Tax department’s day-to-day client-facing activities. You will oversee a team of dedicated tax professionals, focusing on the development and execution of tax compliance and advisory services for clients, primarily comprised of internationally expanding businesses.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Client Management:
- Lead and manage a team of tax professionals, ensuring efficient service delivery and maintaining high standards of client service.
- Act as the main point of contact for clients, handling complex issues and providing solutions that support their business objectives.
- Identify opportunities to expand client services and establish long-term relationships with clients and their advisors.
- Tax Compliance & Advisory:
- Provide expertise in a range of tax areas including corporation tax, transfer pricing, VAT, share schemes, and R&D Tax Credits.
- Advise on cross-border tax issues and collaborate with local offices and service providers to coordinate international compliance.
- Business Development:
- Drive business growth by identifying and securing new business opportunities. Represent the firm at industry events and participate in networking and client onboarding activities.
- Contribute to the strategic planning and budgeting of the department, focusing on revenue growth, cost management, and achieving departmental targets.
- People Development:
- Mentor, coach, and develop team members, fostering a culture of learning and continuous improvement.
- Ensure the team stays up-to-date with tax legislation changes and regulatory requirements through regular training and development programmes.
- Risk & Compliance:
- Implement robust risk management and quality control processes.
- Ensure compliance with UK tax laws, anti-money laundering regulations, and GDPR requirements
- Minimum 10 years of experience in a senior tax role within a professional services environment, with a strong track record in both compliance and advisory.
- Excellent technical knowledge of UK tax legislation, with significant experience in international tax advisory and cross-border issues.
- Proven leadership and team management skills, with the ability to drive efficiencies and deliver high-quality client service.
Qualifications:
- Professionally qualified (ICAEW, ACCA, or CTA).
- Strong commercial acumen and the ability to balance technical proficiency with business development.
