Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a portfolio of trusts, including UK, offshore, and charitable trusts.
  • Liaise with clients, their professional advisers, and other stakeholders to ensure the smooth operation of trust entities.
  • Conduct periodic reviews of client files, investment performance, and trust operations.
  • Review and prepare trust accounts, tax returns, and financial statements.
  • Prepare inheritance tax forms, calculate trust distributions, and ensure accurate maintenance of ledgers and cash-flow schedules.
  • Prepare bills, perform WIP analysis, and manage financial aspects of client portfolios.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, including CRS, FATCA, Economic Substance, BO Registers, Trust Registers, and AML.
  • Review and draft deeds, trustees' resolutions, and other required documentation.
  • Liaise with tax authorities (e.g., HMRC, IRS) and work towards tax efficiencies for UK-domiciled clients, focusing on inheritance tax (IHT), capital gains tax (CGT), and other relevant areas.
  • Prepare and review trust-related documents, including minutes, resolutions, and other legal documents.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of trust activities, ensuring that all necessary documentation is in place and compliant with regulatory standards.
  • Maintain and strengthen client relationships through regular communication, meetings, and by addressing any concerns or issues that arise.
  • Work closely with investment managers, lawyers, corporate trustees, and other professionals to ensure seamless trust administration.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Relevant demonstrable experience gained within trust and probate professional services. Formal qualifications are not necessarily required but CTA or STEP considered a bonus.
  • Extensive experience in trust administration, with a proven track record in managing high-net-worth client portfolios.
  • Strong understanding of UK and offshore trust structures, tax implications, and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage client relationships effectively.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a focus on delivering high-quality client service.
