Our client is a Single Family Office serving multiple generations of a high-net-worth family. The office provides comprehensive business and personal services, including legal, tax, trust, estate, investment, accounting, and reporting. The Vice President of Estate Planning and Trust Administration will work directly under the Director of Estate Planning and Trust Administration. This position encompasses all aspects of developing, implementing, and managing the family’s trust and estate matters, ensuring seamless administration and strategic oversight.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Support the operation of a private trust company, including investment oversight, regulatory compliance, board/committee materials, and beneficiary reporting.
  • Assist in developing and implementing estate plans, ensuring alignment with family goals, legal requirements, and current laws, in coordination with outside counsel.
  • Collaborate on trust formation, addressing situs, trustees, beneficiaries, and funding.
  • Manage family foundations to ensure compliance with tax laws.
  • Oversee marital property agreements and estate administration, including probate, estate settlement, and estate tax returns.
  • Contribute to planning family business ownership structures in relation to trusts and estates.
  • Administer life insurance policies, including underwriting, payments, and settlements.
  • Work with internal teams (legal, tax, accounting) on trust and estate matters.
  • Handle other duties as needed.

Desired Skills & Experience

  • CPA or JD with 4–5+ years’ experience, within a professional environment.
  • Knowledge of trust and estate planning, implementation, and administration.
  • Familiarity with private trust companies and Texas Department of Banking regulations is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of income tax law for individuals, trusts, and flow-through entities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with DocuWare is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and confidentiality.
  • Ability to manage deadlines, adapt to changing priorities, and maintain organized workflows in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven ability to build effective relationships across all levels of an organisation.
