William HurlockOur client, an independent trust company, is seeking a Compliance Assistant to join their wider Compliance team. The role involves supporting the ongoing delivery of the compliance programme, including monitoring activities, client reviews, and providing guidance on regulatory matters. The team will offer support in achieving these objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct periodic reviews of client files and escalate findings where needed
- Assist with the Compliance Monitoring Plan and follow up on outcomes
- Provide guidance to the business on compliance matters
- Track regulatory updates and flag any required internal changes
- Support compliance reporting and contribute to internal projects
- Help coordinate training and maintain records
- Provide general admin support, including mailbox management
Requirements
- 2–5 years in financial services, preferably in a regulated environment such as a Trust Company
- Proactive and adaptable with a problem-solving mindset
- Confident using Microsoft Office; familiarity with compliance systems is helpful
- Willing to pursue professional qualifications (e.g. ICA)
- Understanding of AML, CDD/KYC, and JFSC Handbook requirements
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage competing tasks
- Clear communicator, able to explain complex points simply
- Interest in AI and process efficiency tools
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Well-organised with strong time management skills
