Our client is a highly respected, multi-jurisdictional single family office that manages complex trust and company structures. The organisation operates within a regulated environment and places strong emphasis on integrity, discretion, and professionalism. This is a rare opportunity to join a highly skilled team of professionals with expertise in accountancy, law, and trusteeship, working together to support complex business, philanthropic, and private activities across multiple jurisdictions.

Location: Guernsey is the preferred base for this role; however, London may be considered for the right professional.

Role Purpose

The Risk and Governance Manager will play a pivotal role in ensuring the organisation operates within legal, regulatory, and ethical boundaries while effectively managing risks associated with administering trusts and company structures. This position requires a proactive individual with deep knowledge of compliance frameworks and governance standards.

Key Responsibilities (not limited to):
Risk and Compliance Oversight

  • Act as the primary point of contact for compliance and risk within the client services team.
  • Identify, assess, and monitor risks across trust and company structures, escalating issues and recommending mitigation actions.
Client Onboarding and Due Diligence
  • Oversee onboarding, due diligence, sanctions screening, and ongoing monitoring in line with AML/CFT/CFP and sanctions regulations.
  • Conduct Client Risk Assessments, Trigger Reviews, and Periodic Reviews to maintain accurate risk profiles.
  • Ensure client due diligence files are complete, accurate, and audit-ready.
Regulatory and Governance Reporting
  • Prepare and submit regulatory filings, including Annual Fiduciary and Financial Crime Returns, in accordance with GFSC requirements.
  • Support governance processes through accurate record-keeping and policy adherence.

Training and Culture

  • Provide training and guidance on risk management and regulatory obligations.
  • Promote a strong compliance culture and reinforce governance standards across the organisation.

Qualifications & Experience

7+ years’ experience in compliance and/or governance roles, with good knowledge of trust and company structures.
