Trusts & Estates Associate

A leading provider of effective legal services in construction & public contracts, litigation, corporate & business transactions, real estate, and trusts & estates is seeking a Trusts & Estates Associate Attorney to join its Hartford office.

Responsibilities:

• Advise clients on a broad range of estate planning matters, including wealth transfer strategies, charitable planning, and business succession.
• Draft and review estate planning documents, such as wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and healthcare proxies.
• Represent fiduciaries and beneficiaries in probate and trust administration matters.
• Provide counsel on tax planning related to estates and trusts, including gift, estate, and generation-skipping transfer taxes.
• Support clients in contested probate proceedings and estate-related litigation when necessary.

Requirements:

• J.D. from an accredited law school and admission to the Massachusetts Bar.
• 3–7 years of experience in trusts & estates law, with a strong focus on estate planning and administration.
• Excellent drafting, research, and communication skills.
• Experience working with high-net-worth individuals and families is preferred.
• LLM in Taxation or significant tax experience is a plus but not required.
