Compliance Officer – Single Family Office

We are looking to appoint a Compliance Officer for a well-established, Guernsey-based Single Family Office supporting a multi-generational, international family with complex business and investment interests.

This is a rare opportunity to join a discreet, high-calibre team operating across multiple jurisdictions, with responsibility for fiduciary structures, trusts, and corporate entities.

The Role:
Acting as the prescribed Compliance Officer (CO), you will take ownership of the firm’s regulatory compliance framework, ensuring adherence to GFSC rules, codes, and applicable fiduciary legislation.

You will provide strategic compliance guidance to the business, promote a strong governance culture, and ensure policies, procedures, and controls operate effectively across the organisation.

The position is distinct from financial crime responsibilities (MLRO/MLCO).

Key responsibilities

• Oversee compliance with Guernsey fiduciary laws, rules, and codes
• Design and maintain compliance policies, procedures, and controls
• Conduct periodic reviews, monitor effectiveness, and track remediation
• Identify and manage regulatory breaches and control weaknesses
• Provide reporting and insight to the Board and senior management
• Liaise with the GFSC and support regulatory submissions and inspections
• Oversee key areas including corporate governance, client money, conduct of business, prudential requirements, data protection, and record keeping
• Support governance committees and compliance training initiatives

Candidate profile

• Strong knowledge of Guernsey regulatory framework for fiduciaries
• Proven hands-on experience in a senior compliance role within fiduciary or financial services
• Able to engage with Board-level stakeholders and regulators
