Assistant Finance Manager

A leading international fiduciary and private client services business is seeking an Assistant Finance Manager to join its growing finance team in Guernsey. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified accountant or experienced Senior Finance Officer looking to take the next step into a management position.

Working closely with senior finance leadership, you will take responsibility for financial reporting, statutory accounts, budgeting and cashflow management across the UK and Switzerland operations, whilst supervising a small team.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee monthly and quarterly financial reporting
• Assist with consolidated reporting and annual budgeting processes
• Review general ledger postings, VAT returns and reconciliations
• Coordinate statutory financial statements and annual audits
• Manage cashflow forecasting and support credit control activities
• Liaise with external stakeholders and regulatory bodies where required
• Drive process improvements and finance systems enhancements
• Supervise, mentor and develop junior team members
• Deputise for the Finance Manager when required

The Successful Candidate

• ACA, ACCA or equivalent qualified
• Strong technical accounting knowledge
• Experience preparing management accounts and statutory financial statements
• Familiarity with UK regulatory and reporting requirements, including Companies House and VAT
• Previous experience supervising or managing staff
• Strong communication, stakeholder management and analytical skills
• Ambitious and looking to progress into a broader finance leadership role

Remuneration: £50,000+ (negotiable depending on experience) plus excellent benefits.
