The Opportunity
The firm is seeking a Trusts & Estates Associate to join its growing private wealth practice. This role is ideally suited to an attorney with approximately 2-4 years of experience who is seeking meaningful client exposure, sophisticated work and mentorship from leading practitioners in the field.
The successful candidate will work closely with partners on a broad range of matters, including:
- Estate planning for high-net-worth individuals and families
- Delaware trust planning for clients throughout the United States
- Trust formation, modification and administration matters
- Fiduciary advisory services for individual and corporate trustees
- Trust company representation and counsel
- Wealth transfer and succession planning strategies
- Estate and gift tax planning considerations
- Family office, charitable and philanthropic planning structures
- Advising fiduciaries on complex trust administration issues
- Drafting trusts, wills and related estate planning documents
Associates will gain exposure to complex and sophisticated matters from the outset while benefiting from structured mentorship and direct partner interaction.
The Successful Candidate:
- J.D. from an accredited law school
- Approximately 2-4 years of legal experience preferred
- Prior trusts & estates experience is advantageous but not essential
- Strong interest in private wealth, trust planning and fiduciary advisory work
- Delaware Bar admission preferred, but not required
- Candidates admitted in other jurisdictions who are willing to obtain Delaware admission are encouraged to apply
- LL.M. in Taxation preferred, but not required
- Excellent drafting, writing and analytical skills
- Strong academic credentials
- Ability to manage multiple matters in a fast-paced practice
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
